We are an established truck & trailer repair company in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago. Diamond is a proud partner/dealer of Landoll Trailers, looking to hire additional technicians that have the skills and experience to maintain, diagnose, and repair trailers. Looking to hire an experienced individual with 3+ years of trailer repair experience.
Essential Functions and Expectations:
Ability to diagnose failures and perform repairs on trailers Has the fundamental understanding of repairing and rebuilding components on 48ft and 53ft dry van trailers, refer trailers, and beverage body trailers and can effectively repair the following components: Suspension and running gear components Landing gear assembly and components Wheel-end components Brake and air components Rear frame and door components Side, nose, and roof components Proficient in roll up door repair, rebuild, and install Able to thoroughly perform preventative maintenance inspections and repairs, including completion of DOT forms and all other customer provided forms in a timely fashion Maintains a high level of welding and metal fabrication skills Receive and carry out service orders Perform quality control checks for repaired vehicle to ensure repairs are complete Road tests vehicles to ensure quality of repairs and proper vehicle operation. •Dependent upon having a CDL• Works with the Parts Department to ensure that all necessary materials, parts, and shop supplies are properly on service orders. Performs other maintenance duties or assignments when necessary Maintains organized and clean workspace. Keeps account of company and personal tools at all times Qualifications 3 years experience as a trailer mechanic Posses a valid driver's license Must be able to obtain CDL Must own tools Able to lift up to 100 LB Highly self-motivated and detail-oriented with solid organizational and time-management skills
Schedule:
Day shift - hours ranging from 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM Overtime and commission available upon request
