Job Description
Experienced Diesel & Gas Mechanic From the Ground Up Landscaping & Lawn Care LLC is seeking an experienced, dependable Mechanic to join our growing team. Previous professional mechanical experience is required for this position. This role is responsible for maintaining and repairing our company fleet, including diesel and gasoline trucks, trailers, commercial mowers, small engines, and landscaping/construction equipment . We are looking for an experienced mechanic who can independently diagnose problems, complete repairs correctly and efficiently, and take pride in keeping our fleet and equipment safe, reliable, and ready for our crews. Diesel truck repair and maintenance experience isREQUIRED
Gasoline truck repair and maintenance experience isREQUIRED
Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting experience Experience diagnosing mechanical and electrical problems Experience with brakes, suspension, steering, batteries, starting/charging systems, cooling systems, and preventative maintenance Ability to perform routine and more extensive repairs on company trucks Experience working on trailers and trailer electrical/braking systems Commercial mower and small-engine repair experience strongly preferred Knowledge of hydraulic systems preferred Welding and fabrication experience is a plus Ability to safely operate shop tools and equipment Ability to work independently and prioritize repairs based on operational needs Strong attention to detail and organization Dependable attendance and strong work ethic Valid driver's license required Applicants without previous professional diesel and gasoline mechanical experience will not be considered. Responsibilities Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel and gasoline-powered trucks Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and fleet services Diagnose engine, fuel, cooling, drivetrain, electrical, starting, and charging system issues Perform brake, suspension, steering, wheel bearing, and related repairs Maintain and repair commercial zero-turn and walk-behind mowers Diagnose and repair small engines, including blowers, trimmers, edgers, chainsaws, and similar equipment Maintain and repair landscaping and construction equipment Inspect, maintain, and repair utility and equipment trailers Repair trailer brakes, bearings, tires, lighting, wiring, and other components Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and fuel-related issues Perform blade sharpening, replacement, and other routine equipment maintenance Maintain preventative maintenance schedules to minimize unexpected breakdowns Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed Monitor equipment condition and identify potential problems before they become major repairs Maintain an organized inventory of commonly used parts, filters, fluids, and repair supplies Keep the shop and work areas clean, organized, and safe Assist with emergency equipment and vehicle repairs when necessary Communicate equipment concerns and repair needs with management Tools & Shop Equipment From the Ground Up Landscaping & Lawn Care provides tools and shop equipment necessary to perform the position. Experienced mechanics are also welcome to bring and use their own personal tools if they prefer working with their own equipment. Bringing personal tools is permitted but is not intended to replace the tools and equipment provided by the company. We expect all company and personal tools to be properly maintained, safely operated, and kept organized within the shop. Who We're Looking For We are looking for a well-rounded, experienced mechanic who can work on more than one type of vehicle or equipment. One day may involve diagnosing a diesel truck, while another may involve repairing a gas truck, commercial mower, trailer, small engine, or piece of landscaping equipment.
