Job Description

at VS Carriers Inc d/b/a Vista Trans in Lake in the Hills, Illinois, United States Job Description Performing skilled diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on a wide range of heavy-duty trucks and trailers; perform diesel engine diagnostics using OEM and aftermarket scan tools; service and repair cooling systems, water pumps, radiators, and thermostats. Troubleshoot and repair fuel systems; maintain and repair turbochargers and exhaust aftertreatment systems; conduct clutch replacements and drivetrain repairs; perform oil and filter changes; troubleshoot electrical systems; perform wiring repairs and resolve sensor-related issues; utilize onboard computer diagnostics and digital tools to identify and resolve faults, service starters, alternators, and battery systems; diagnose ABS issues; service and repair brake and suspension systems, service wheel seals, hubs, bearings, and perform proper torque procedures; perform repairs on dry van, reefer, and flatbed trailers, perform DOT annual and preventive pre trip and post trip inspection/repairs; document all maintenance and repairs performed using shop logs or fleet management systems. Maintain compliance with OSHA, FMCSA, and DOT standards. Must have 2 years of experience working with each of the following: using hand tools, including screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, and hoists; using power tools, including pneumatic wrenches, welding equipment, lathes, and jacks; using diagnostic tools, including pressure gauges, motor analyzers, chassis charts, and engine-diagnostic software. In addition, specific experience must include each of the following: reading technical manuals; using diagnostic software; interpreting test instrument data.
