This is a book time / flat rate position , meaning high performers are rewarded for efficiency and quality. Our technicians can easily earn over $100,000 per year under our performance-based structure. With Weekly Bonus available. We upfit fleet vehicles, heavy trucks, municipal units, and emergency apparatus — including builds supporting F.A.S.T. (Fire Apparatus Service Team) and other SAE Group divisions. Responsibilities Install emergency lighting, sirens, and control systems Upfit municipal and fleet vehicles Install consoles, partitions, storage systems, and specialty equipment Perform 12V/24V electrical wiring and system integration Install cameras, radios, inverters, and power distribution systems Route wiring cleanly and professionally Test and verify all systems for function and safety Follow install guides and work orders Maintain professional workmanship standards Qualifications Prior vehicle upfitting, fleet, or emergency vehicle experience preferred Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude Ability to work efficiently and independently Clean, production-focused mindset Ability to read diagrams and install sheets Reliable and punctual Preferred Experience Emergency vehicle builds Heavy truck or municipal fleet work Welding or light fabrication CAN bus systems Radio or communication installs Why Join SAE Group?
