Job Summary:

The Mechanic/Fleet Maintenance positions must maintain advanced knowledge of a vehicle's engine, emissions systems, transmission, brakes, hydraulics, and electrical systems to perform advanced preventive maintenance functions, on site and on the road. performs a variety of skilled, semi-skilled and manual labor using a variety of hand tools, power, tools, and equipment. Specific responsibilities may include maintenance of backhoes, skid steer, various saw, street sweepers, sump truck, jet vacuums, pump houses, bucket trucks, excavators, paint machines, pressure washers, and various mowers. This position is also responsible for following MUTCD, welding, and traffic control protocols. Essential Duties and Responsibilities and all other duties as assigned:

• Advanced engine chassis repair and maintenance
• Advanced knowledge of vehicle body and control systems including hydraulic and electrical, to maintain and repair vehicles in a timely manner
• Operate welding tolls to repair heavy equipment
• Identify the source of malfunctions using electronic and diagnostic tolls.
• Maintain all repair and maintenance records on all vehicles and equipment
• Establish priorities for determining which maintenance can be completed in house and which may be sent to outside agencies
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment
• Ability to follow safety procedures and protocols Other duties as assigned

This job does not have any supervisory responsibilities. Qualifications, Education, and/or

Experience:

• Ability to follow oral and written instructions promptly and accurately.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience working on heavy duty trucks and fabrication
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in a Lead Mechanic position requiring knowledge and application of OSHA Has Com, DOT Brake Inspections, OSHA Lock Out Tag Out and all OSHA Fire Protection regulations
• A high school diploma or equivalent
• Basic computer skills
