Greg's Diesel Service , a leading provider of fleet maintenance services, is hiring Trailer Mechanics for their Greenwood, IN location.
Job Summary:
Trailer Mechanics inspect, repair and maintain semi-trailers and converter dollies. Minor work is also performed on yard trucks and shop equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot mechanical, air, electrical, and structural issues using computer software, diagnostic tools, and manual inspection. Repair mechanical, air, electrical, and structural issues. Perform routine preventative maintenance in accordance with DOT guidelines. Move equipment in/out of the shop and reposition within the yard. Accurately document repairs, parts usage, and labor for each repair. Respond to road calls on an as-needed basis. Communicate with shop managers/supervisors on repair statuses, parts requests, as well as any other items that need addressed. Promote a positive, clean, and organized work environment.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Must have a valid driver's license. Must be able to pass a background check, in accordance with vendor standards. 1-3+ years of vehicle, trailer, or heavy-duty equipment maintenance experience preferred. Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision. Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and work on, in, and under trailers. Comfortable working in outdoor conditions.
