Job Description

This is a hands-on position combining vehicle diagnostics with mechanical repairs. We are looking for someone who can accurately identify vehicle concerns, determine the proper testing procedures, clearly document findings, and complete repairs with confidence and professionalism. At Cars Plus, diagnostics are treated as skilled work—not a guessing game. We believe in testing before replacing components and giving our technicians the time, information, and equipment needed to diagnose vehicles correctly. Technicians work together when needed, share ideas, and help solve difficult problems. Asking for another opinion is viewed as teamwork, not weakness.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Your daily work may include: Advanced electrical diagnostics Check engine light and drivability diagnostics Engine performance and fuel-system diagnostics Computer network and communication diagnostics Cooling-system and air-conditioning repairs Brake, steering, and suspension repairs Engine timing and sealing repairs Preventive maintenance and general mechanical repairs Larger mechanical repair jobs when needed Using factory-level scan tools, wiring diagrams, lab scopes, meters, and professional service information Clearly documenting diagnostic results and repair recommendations Communicating findings to service advisors and other team members Every day brings something different, making this an excellent opportunity for a technician who enjoys solving problems instead of simply replacing parts.

Competitive hourly pay of $50-$60 per hour True hourly compensation—no flat rate Paid diagnostic time Medical benefits Retirement plan Paid vacation and holidays Monday-Friday schedule Modern diagnostic equipment Factory-level scan tools Professional service information and wiring diagrams Shop-owned specialty tools Quality replacement parts and fluids Clean, professional work environment Stable, year-round workload Supportive, team-oriented atmosphere Opportunity for long-term professional growth Because Cars Plus is an independent repair facility, you will work on a wide variety of domestic and import vehicles, allowing you to expand your knowledge and experience continually.
QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will have several years of professional automotive repair experience and be comfortable performing both diagnostic testing and mechanical repairs. You do not need to know every possible failure. However, you should be able to think logically, follow an effective testing process, and confidently diagnose unfamiliar problems.
Qualifications include:
Several years of professional automotive repair experience Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities Experience using professional scan tools Ability to read wiring diagrams and factory service information Ability to perform both diagnostic and mechanical repairs Quality workmanship and strong attention to detail Professional communication skills Valid driver's license Personal tool collection appropriate for an experienced technician Positive attitude and willingness to continue learning ASE certifications are appreciated but not required.
