Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic team as a Heavy Equipment and Truck Mechanic, where your expertise will keep our fleet running smoothly and efficiently! In this vital role, you'll diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of heavy machinery, including excavators, bulldozers, tractors, and semi's. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractors using schematics and technical manuals. Conduct routine maintenance including oil changes, brake repairs, hydraulic system servicing, suspension adjustments, and tire replacements to ensure optimal performance. Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific repair requirements. Troubleshoot electrical systems, including automotive diagnostics related to engines, transmissions, air brakes, and electrical wiring. Inspect equipment for wear or damage; perform alignments and calibrations to maintain safety standards and operational efficiency. Assist with assembly or disassembly of machinery for repairs or upgrades; utilize heavy lifting techniques safely during service procedures. Maintain detailed service records, logs, and reports; communicate effectively with team members and customers regarding repair status or technical issues. Requirements Proven mechanic experience with heavy equipment operation. Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, shocks & struts, HVAC systems, and suspension components. Skilled in reading schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex machinery issues. Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and other fabrication tools. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while working in various environmental conditions; excellent physical stamina required. Experience with automotive repair including brake systems, tire service, wheel alignment, electrical diagnostics and vehicle maintenance.
Pay:
From $30.00 per hour
