2988837906-2 Apply for this job now Job Description GFL Environmental seeks an Evening Mechanic to maintain and repair a fleet of waste collection and support vehicles. You will perform inspections, diagnose mechanical and hydraulic issues, complete preventative maintenance, and ensure equipment meets safety and environmental standards. Working evening shifts in a fast-paced shop, you'll collaborate with operators and supervisors, maintain accurate service records, and support continuous operations that keep essential environmental services running reliably for local communities. Responsibilities Inspect, diagnose, and repair fleet vehicles and equipment during evening shifts Perform scheduled preventative maintenance to minimize downtime Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, brake, and mechanical systems Ensure all work complies with safety and environmental regulations Maintain accurate service, parts usage, and inspection records Collaborate with drivers and supervisors to prioritize repairs Operate shop tools, lifts, and diagnostic equipment safely Support continuous improvement of maintenance processes Required Skills Diesel engine repair Hydraulic systems maintenance Brake and suspension service Electrical diagnostics Preventative maintenance planning Shop safety and OSHA compliance Use of diagnostic tools and scanners Welding and fabrication basics HVAC systems in heavy vehicles Maintenance recordkeeping
