Automotive Tech / Service Advisor Trainee Urb's Garage & Tire Turn Your Automotive Experience Into a Career in Service Advising Urb's Garage & Tire is looking for a detail-oriented, customer-focused person with some automotive experience who wants to grow into a Service Advisor position . This is a great opportunity for someone who already understands the basics of automotive repair and maintenance but wants to expand their skills beyond the shop floor. You might currently be a Lube Technician, Tire Technician, Parts Person, Entry-Level Technician, Shop Assistant, or someone with hands-on automotive experience who enjoys working with people just as much as working on cars. We can teach you our systems, sales process, and service-advising skills. We're looking for someone who brings automotive aptitude, strong attention to detail, a great attitude, and a genuine desire to take care of customers. What You'll Be Doing This is a hands-on position that works between the front counter and the shop . You'll help our Service Advisors, Technicians, and Parts Vendors keep vehicles moving efficiently through the repair process.
Responsibilities include:
Greeting customers and providing an excellent customer experience Answering phones and scheduling appointments Assisting Service Advisors with estimates and repair orders Communicating repair status and information to customers Ordering, receiving, tracking, and returning parts Communicating with parts vendors Coordinating with technicians throughout the day Monitoring repair orders and helping manage shop workflow Making sure vehicles and jobs stay on schedule Verifying parts, paperwork, and repair-order details Assisting with final quality-control inspections Helping ensure completed vehicles are ready for customer pickup Moving vehicles and assisting with shop organization Learning our software, systems, processes, and procedures Training toward becoming a full Service Advisor This Is Also a Hands-On Automotive Position Because this role works closely with the shop, you may also be expected to assist with basic automotive repairs and maintenance when needed . Depending on your experience and the needs of the shop, this could include: Oil and filter changes Tire rotations Installing wiper blades, bulbs, batteries, and filters Checking and adjusting tire pressures Fluid checks and basic maintenance Vehicle inspections Basic repair work within your experience level Assisting technicians when needed Road testing or verifying repairs as part of our quality-control process You won't be stuck behind a counter all day. We're looking for someone who is comfortable moving between customers, computers, parts, technicians, and vehicles to help keep the entire operation running smoothly. We're looking for someone with enough automotive background to understand the environment and who wants the opportunity to develop their customer service, communication, sales, workflow management, and leadership skills.
