Overview MTM Environmental runs a growing fleet of light and medium duty trucks alongside heavy equipment (skid loaders, excavators, chippers, generators) supporting environmental construction and infrastructure projects across multiple states. We're looking for an experienced mechanic who's as comfortable with a diagnostic scanner as a wrench, someone who can pull a transmission or engine, diagnose it, and put it back together right, not just swap parts and hope. Key Responsibilities Diagnose and repair engine, transmission, brake, electrical, and hydraulic systems across trucks and heavy equipment Use diagnostic scanners to read and interpret fault codes on trucks, skid loaders, excavators, generators, and chippers Remove, rebuild, and reinstall major components (transmissions, engines, differentials) rather than just replacing parts Perform preventive maintenance and DOT inspections on light and medium duty trucks Service and replace suspension components, axles, and drive shafts Maintain hydraulic systems and PTO operations on dump trucks and equipment Handle basic welding for repairs as needed Coordinate with operations on equipment availability and scheduling Keep the shop clean and organized Requirements 5+ years of mechanical experience across trucks and/or heavy equipment Strong diagnostic ability with scan tools; comfortable interpreting fault codes and pulling live data, not just clearing codes Experience removing and rebuilding major components (transmissions, engines) Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Ability to lift and carry up to 100 lbs Ability to work in various positions (lying, kneeling, standing) for extended periods Must pass pre-employment drug screening Reliable transportation and punctual attendance Preferred Qualifications MIG/TIG/Stick welding experience Experience with Ford F-650/F-750, International 4300, or Freightliner M2-106 chassis Heavy equipment experience (skid loaders, excavators, chippers, generators) Prior fleet maintenance experience
