Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Used Car Reconditioning Technician to join our dynamic automotive team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing used vehicles to meet quality standards by performing comprehensive repairs, inspections, and cosmetic enhancements. Your expertise will ensure that each vehicle is thoroughly reconditioned, safe, reliable, and visually appealing for our customers. Duties Perform thorough inspections of used vehicles to identify necessary repairs and cosmetic enhancements. Conduct mechanical repairs including engine diagnostics, transmission repairs, suspension system work, brake repairs, and oil changes. Utilize schematics and automotive electrical systems knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues efficiently. Repair or replace automotive components such as shocks & struts, tires, wheel alignments, and auto body parts to restore vehicle condition. Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic software to complete repairs accurately and safely. Ensure all work complies with manufacturer specifications, safety standards, and dealership policies. Maintain detailed records of repairs performed and communicate effectively with team members to ensure timely completion of reconditioning tasks. Skills Proven dealership experience or extensive background working in the automotive repair industry. Strong mechanical knowledge with expertise in automotive suspension systems, powertrain components, transmissions, and diesel engine repair. Proficiency in automotive diagnostics using schematics and electronic testing tools. Familiarity with ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), auto electrical systems, and auto body repair techniques. Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and repair guides accurately. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and heavy equipment mechanics tools. Excellent customer service skills with a focus on quality workmanship and attention to detail. Knowledge of tire service, wheel alignment procedures, shocks & struts replacement, brake systems repair, and oil change processes. Mechanical systems repair experience including auto electrical systems and maintenance procedures for GM vehicles or similar brands is a plus.
