CDL Class A Driver / IT Asset Technician Lexington Computer Recycling, LLC (LCR) is seeking a dependable, mechanically and technically inclined individual for a unique hybrid position combining CDL Class A driving with hands-on IT asset processing at our facility. This is not a traditional over-the-road driving position . The majority of the position will be based at our facility working with computers, electronics, and IT equipment. However, the employee will also operate company trucks for customer pickups and projects throughout the region. We anticipate approximately 30-40 overnight travel nights per year , with most trips lasting one to several days. The majority of the time, you will be home each evening. What You'll Do CDL / Transportation Duties Operate Class A commercial vehicles for customer pickups and equipment transportation Make local, regional, and occasional longer-distance trips Approximately 30-40 overnight travel nights annually Assist with loading and unloading electronics, computers, servers, and other equipment Secure loads and ensure equipment is transported safely Complete required vehicle inspections and maintain DOT-compliant documentation Represent LCR professionally while working at customer locations Assist with onsite electronics removal, data destruction, and decommissioning projects when needed IT Asset / Warehouse Duties When you're not on the road, you'll work with our team processing computers and other technology equipment.

Duties may include:

Wiping hard drives and solid-state drives using professional data-erasure software Sorting and grading laptops, desktops, servers, and other electronics Identifying computer specifications such as processor, RAM, storage capacity, and model Testing laptops, desktops, and other equipment for functionality Removing hard drives, RAM, processors, and other components Preparing equipment for resale or recycling Recording serial numbers and asset information Assisting with physical hard-drive and SSD destruction Palletizing, organizing, and preparing equipment for shipment General warehouse and equipment-handling duties You do not need to be an IT expert. We can train the right person on our software and processes. However, you should be comfortable working with computers and willing to learn how to identify, test, wipe, and process different types of technology. What We're Looking For Valid Class A CDL Safe driving record Able and willing to travel overnight approximately 30-40 nights per year Comfortable driving both locally and on longer regional trips Basic knowledge of computers and computer hardware Ability to learn new technology and software Mechanically inclined and comfortable working with your hands Dependable and able to work independently Strong attention to detail Comfortable interacting professionally with customers Able to lift and move computer equipment and assist with loading/unloading Willing to perform a variety of duties rather than doing the same task every day This Position May Be a Great Fit If... You're a CDL driver who enjoys computers, electronics, or working with your hands but doesn't want to spend your life on the road . It could also be a good fit for someone with a background in IT, electronics, computer repair, warehousing, field service, or equipment operations who already holds a Class A CDL. Some days you may be wiping and testing laptops. Another day you may be loading servers from a customer location. The next week you could be driving a tractor-trailer to an out-of-state project. We are looking for someone who appreciates that variety. Our work ranges from processing individual computers at our facility to removing and transporting entire data centers and large quantities of IT equipment from customer locations.

Schedule:

Primarily daytime weekday hours, with travel as required for scheduled projects.
