Mechanic Cajun Outboards - 3.0 Addis, LA Job Details Full-time $22 - $40 an hour 6 hours ago Qualifications Mechanical assembly Mechanic experience High school diploma or GED Full Job Description Cajun Outboards is a marine dealership specializing in boats, outboard motors, rigging, service, and repairs. We are looking for a dependable, mechanically minded individual to join our service team as a Marine Mechanic. Marine experience is preferred, but not required. We are willing to provide training and send the right candidate to marine mechanic school to develop the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the marine industry . Job Summary The Marine Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, repairing, rigging, and maintaining outboard-powered boats. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced marine dealership environment. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair outboard engines and marine systems Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and scheduled services Complete engine oil and filter changes, lower-unit services, and tune-ups Troubleshoot electrical, fuel, starting, charging, and ignition systems Perform outboard engine installations and repowers Rig new and used boats with engines, controls, gauges, electronics, and accessories Perform rigging and wiring according to manufacturer specifications Diagnose and repair steering and control systems Inspect boats and engines for proper operation and safety Complete service work orders accurately and efficiently Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Communicate with the service department regarding repair needs and job status Follow manufacturer service procedures and safety guidelines Assist with preparing new boats for customer delivery Perform other service and mechanical duties as needed Qualifications Previous marine mechanic or marine technician experience preferred Experience working with outboard engines preferred Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills Basic electrical and diagnostic knowledge Ability to read and understand wiring diagrams and service manuals Ability to use common hand and power tools Ability to work independently and as part of a team Valid driver's license Reliable transportation Strong attention to detail and quality of workmanship Ability to lift, move, and work around boats, engines, and marine equipment Preferred Experience Experience with major outboard manufacturers such as: Yamaha Mercury Experience with marine electronics, trolling motors, hydraulic steering, boat rigging, and repowers is a plus. Pay:
