Job Description

US Foods seeks a Fleet Reefer Technician to maintain and repair refrigerated trailers and fleet equipment supporting our wholesale foodservice operations. You'll diagnose and service refrigeration units, perform preventive maintenance, and respond to breakdowns to ensure temperature control and DOT-compliant equipment readiness. In our performance-driven, safety-focused culture, you'll collaborate with drivers and fleet leaders, document work in maintenance systems, and support continuous improvement while keeping our customers' products safe and on time nationwide. Responsibilities Inspect, diagnose, and repair trailer refrigeration units and related components Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on reefers and fleet equipment Respond to equipment breakdowns to minimize delivery interruptions and product loss Verify and document temperature control and food-safe operation of units Use diagnostic tools and maintenance software to track work orders and repairs Collaborate with drivers and dispatch to schedule repairs and manage out-of-service equipment Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, and company safety standards Maintain tools, shop equipment, and a clean, safe work area Required Skills Reefer system diagnostics Preventive maintenance Diesel engine repair Electrical troubleshooting HVAC and refrigeration repair Hydraulic and pneumatic systems CMMS/maintenance software Welding and fabrication basics Reading technical manuals/schematics Safety and OSHA compliance
