Automotive Accessory Installer/Technician Location:

Temporary Full-Time Shift:
1st
Shift Hours:
6:00am - 4:30pm Monday to Thursday; O/T required when needed typically on Fridays 6:00am - 2:30 but could also be scheduled for Saturday if necessary

Automotive Accessory Installer/Technician:
Automotive Accessory Installer/Technician performs a wide range of tasks to ensure proper setup and functionality of equipment or systems. The successful candidate should possess a combination of technical knowledge, practical skills, automotive and mechanical abilities. The role involves hands-on work, hand/power tools, including lifting, climbing ladders, and working in various environmental conditions. In summary, an Automotive Accessory Installer/Technician is a skilled professional who bridges the gap between technical products and functional use, ensuring systems are installed correctly, operate efficiently, and meet client expectations while maintaining safety and quality standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining equipment such as telecommunications devices, security systems, computer hardware, audiovisual systems, and networking hardware.
  • Reading and interpreting installation diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals to ensure accurate setup.
  • Troubleshooting equipment malfunctions and system failures, diagnosing issues, and performing repairs or adjustments.
  • Conducting on-site assessments to determine optimal placement and configuration of equipment based on client needs and structural limitations.
  • Providing customer support, including instructions on system operation, addressing questions, and ensuring satisfaction.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work environment, adhering to safety protocols, and ensuring all installations comply with company and regulatory standards.
  • Documenting installation activities, completing reports, logs, and records for accountability and tracking.
  • Occasionally assisting with upgrades, replacing outdated components, or recommending system improvements.
Qualifications:
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and equipment assembly.
  • Understanding of electrical wiring, cabling principles, and low-voltage systems depending on the industry.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams.
  • Physical stamina to lift heavy objects, carry, climb ladders, crouch, kneel and maneuver equipment, work at heights, and operate in confined spaces.
  • Knowledge of modern electrical equipment.
  • Ability to solve problems and repair equipment on site.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills to interact effectively with clients and team members.
  • Attention to detail, organization, and the ability to work independently or collaboratively.
Education/Experience:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required; vocational training or certifications in electronics, IT, or related fields are preferred.
  • Prior experience in installation, maintenance, or technical support roles is advantageous.
