Job Description
The Opportunity Thoroughbred Sedan Van & Bus is seeking a highly skilled, veteran Lead Mechanic to manage the maintenance and reliability of our professional fleet. This is not a shop-bound role; we are looking for a master of the mobile environment who thrives on autonomy, takes pride in high-level diagnostics, and can maintain a fleet of Ford Transits and E-450 buses to the highest safety standards. As our Lead Mechanic, you will be the primary authority on vehicle health, ensuring our passengers and drivers are supported by a perfectly maintained fleet.

Rosedale, MD area (Mobile/On-site at company lots)Key Responsibilities Advanced Diagnostics & Repair:
Lead all troubleshooting and repair efforts for a fleet primarily consisting of Ford Transit vans and E-450 chassis.Mobile Fleet Management:
Perform high-level maintenance and repairs in a mobile capacity (on the ground/in the lot) without a dedicated shop facility.Preventative Maintenance:
Oversee and execute complex PM schedules, ensuring every vehicle exceeds DOT compliance standards.Parts & Vendor Management:
Identify required parts, manage local vendor relationships, and ensure all repairs are cost-effective and timely.Record Keeping:
Maintain meticulous digital logs of all repairs and inspections to ensure 100% fleet readiness. Qualifications and Requirements To be successful in this Lead position, candidates should possess the following:Professional Experience:
Extensive background in fleet maintenance or automotive repair.Tools and Equipment:
Ownership of a comprehensive set of professional grade tools is required.Reliable Transport:
A dependable vehicle for travel between company locations and lots.Physical Stamina:
The ability to work comfortably in a mobile or outdoor environment. This includes working on the ground and lifting 50+ lbs.ASE Certifications:
Active ASE certifications in automotive or medium duty truck categories are highly preferred. Commercial Driver's License (CDL): A valid CDL is highly preferred for vehicle testing and transport, but is not a requirement for hire. Why Join Thoroughbred?Elite Autonomy:
