Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive electrical systems, schematics, and advanced diagnostic tools to identify issues accurately. Repair and maintain various mechanical systems including engines, transmissions, suspensions, brakes, shocks & struts, and powertrain components. Conduct routine vehicle maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, wheel alignments, and fluid replacements to ensure vehicles operate smoothly. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical tools effectively to complete repairs efficiently. Work with heavy equipment mechanics on specialized repairs involving diesel engines and heavy-duty vehicles. Follow dealership protocols and manufacturer specifications for auto body repairs, auto estimating, and GM vehicle servicing when applicable. Maintain detailed records of repairs performed and communicate effectively with customers about vehicle conditions and recommended services. Requirements Proven experience working in the automotive repair industry with a strong background in automotive diagnostics and mechanical systems repair. Dealership experience is highly preferred; familiarity with automotive schematics and electrical systems is essential. Knowledge of ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), air brake systems, and other specialized automotive features. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic software. Strong mechanical knowledge across various vehicle types including gasoline and diesel engines; experience working on transmissions is a plus. Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and service bulletins accurately. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to clients. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; ASE certification or equivalent is preferred but not mandatory.
