O'Connor Heavy Service - Augusta, Maine O'Connor Heavy Service is looking for an experienced heavy-duty technician to join our team. We are a busy repair facility servicing commercial trucks, school buses, and a variety of medium- and heavy-duty vehicles. We are looking for someone with strong diagnostic and repair skills who takes pride in doing quality work. The ideal candidate will have experience with diesel and gas engine repairs, electrical systems, brakes, steering, suspension, preventive maintenance, and general mechanical repairs. School bus experience is strongly preferred, including familiarity with bus inspections, electrical concerns, body systems, and related repairs. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair diesel and gas-powered vehicles Perform preventive maintenance and general repairs Repair brakes, suspension, steering, electrical systems, and other vehicle components Service and repair school buses and commercial vehicles Accurately document repairs and communicate with the service team Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area Work independently while contributing to a positive team environment Qualifications Previous heavy-duty truck, bus, diesel, or fleet repair experience Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities Experience with gas engine repairs School bus experience preferred Valid driver's license CDL, state inspection license, and manufacturer certifications are helpful but not required Dependable, self-motivated, and team-focused What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience -range $60k-$100K Health, dental, and vision insurance Paid vacation and holidays Retirement plan Uniforms provided Ongoing training and advancement opportunities Steady work in a well-equipped shop A supportive and experienced team We are looking for an experienced technician who wants to be a valued part of a dependable team and help us continue providing quality service to our customers.
