Job Description
We are seeking a self-motivated individual with 1-4 yrs of automotive technician experience or tech school, a strong work ethic and leadership qualities, who wants to build on their career and learn from experienced technicians. This full time position provides hands-on experience while adding to your skills, to advance into a full service automotive technician position. Opportunities for advancement and increased earnings as skills develop. Responsibilities include performing various types of daily automotive work, maintain a clean and safe work environment, assist with shop operations, support senior technicians while developing or adding to your skills, help with facility maintenance and equipment, assist with scheduling appointments, ordering parts, and preparing customer work invoices. We are looking for an individual with a high school diploma or equivalent, or automotive technician graduate, basic mechanical aptitude or with experience, strong work ethic and willingness to learn, ability to follow instructions, good communication and customer service skills, basic computer and internet skills, time management skills, ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 60 pounds, reliable transportation, valid driver's license with ability to obtain Maine inspection license, and ability to purchase tools or have tools currently. The right person will have the opportunity of advancing to a full service automotive technician, and/or working shop foreman, with 6 months to a year of training with current shop foreman.
