Job Summary:

As a Fleet Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and related systems. Your familiarity with basic hydraulics, electrical systems, and welding will be essential in ensuring our equipment operates at peak performance. While brake certifications are preferred, they are not mandatory.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing on company vehicles and construction equipment. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel engine issues. Perform repairs on heavy trucks, trailers, HDD, excavators, skid steers, loaders, and other construction equipment. Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns and determine the appropriate repairs. Perform inspections to identify potential mechanical or safety issues before equipment is placed into service. Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, inspections, and parts used. Follow preventative maintenance schedules and ensure equipment is serviced as required. Perform oil changes, brake repairs, fluid changes, filter replacements, and other routine maintenance. Diagnose and repair hydraulic systems, electrical systems, cooling systems, suspension systems, and other mechanical components. Utilize diagnostic equipment (Snap-on) , service manuals, schematics, and other technical resources when necessary. Coordinate with supervisors and field personnel regarding equipment condition and repair needs. Respond to equipment breakdowns and emergency repair needs when necessary. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Ensure repairs are completed safely and in accordance with manufacturer recommendations. Communicate equipment issues and recommended repairs to the appropriate supervisor. Perform other duties related to fleet maintenance as assigned.

Qualifications:

Two-year degree or certificate in Diesel Technology, Automotive Technology, Heavy Equipment Repair, or a related field or 10 years of equivalent relevant experience. Proven experience as a fleet mechanic or in a similar role. Familiarity with basic hydraulics and electrical systems. Familiarity with Diagnostic Technology Welding experience (MIG, TIG, or Stick) is highly desirable. Brake certifications preferred but not required. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
