Description:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Fleet Pressure Vessel Trailer Technician to join our team at our Clio, MI location. If you have a strong technical background in heavy-duty truck repair and take pride in quality craftsmanship, we want to hear from you! Our heavy duty Technicians service and repair our customers' fleet tractors and pressurized vessel trailers, and perform custom builds and upfits to the customer specifications. This position is Full Time, M-F, and first shift. Benefits include vacation time, sick time, medical, dental, vision, and 401k with company match.
Key responsibilities include:
Performing maintenance and repair of transport vessels. Operating a forklift and overhead crane as part of daily shop work. MIG/TIG welding and fabrication, including moving axles, adding gates or cabinets, and similar custom work. Diagnosing and repairing brakes, wheel seals, and related systems. Completing DOT inspections and maintaining accurate service documentation. Working safely at high elevation (top of trailer vessel) and in confined spaces (working inside the vessel) as needed. Facial Hair Policy Employees who wear a tight-fitting respirator must be clean-shaven where the device seals to the face. Facial hair that does not interfere with the sealing surface may be acceptable on a case-by-case basis. Candidates with questions are welcome to discuss this policy during the interview process.
Requirements:
Requirements Qualifications for the Fleet Trailer Technician position: Two years' experience working on heavy-duty trucks. Must have own toolbox and tools. Comfortable operating small hand tools and cutting torches. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. High professional and ethical standards. Accustomed to working at elevation (top of truck) and in confined spaces (inside truck vessel) Ability to perform mathematical computations and read blueprints. Strong problem-solving and documentation skills. State or ASE certification in heavy-duty trucks preferred (or able to obtain within 6 months) — specifically drive train, brakes and braking systems, electrical, and suspension. Must pass a pre-employment drug screening which includes marijuana and criminal background check.
