Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and experienced Trailer Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance facility. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of trailers to ensure optimal safety and performance. Your expertise will help ensure trailers are running smoothly, minimizing downtime and maximizing efficiency. This position offers an exciting opportunity for mechanics with a passion for trailer safety and vehicle systems to showcase their technical skills in a fast-paced environment. Duties Perform detailed inspections of trailers, including chassis, axles, brakes, suspension, and electrical systems. Fabricate parts or modifications as needed using welding, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques. Use heavy lifting equipment and perform tire service safely and efficiently. Maintain detailed service records and ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications. Perform annual DOT inspections on each individual trailer. Requirements Proven experience as a trailer mechanic or similar experience. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems repair including electrical systems and suspensions. Hands-on experience with van-type trailers, flatbeds, and chipvans. Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering tools, and other maintenance devices. Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on safety and quality workmanship. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work in physically demanding environments. Valid certification in heavy equipment operation is highly desirable; a relevant license such as CDL is a plus.
