Trailer Mechanic Location:

Kalamazoo, MI 49048

Schedule:

Full-time / Benefitted Position We are seeking a dependable Trailer Mechanic to inspect, maintain, and repair 53ft semi-trailers to ensure safety and DOT compliance. This position requires a dedicated individual capable of performing complex repairs while maintaining safety standards. Candidates should be prepared to work in a physically demanding environment that values precision craftsmanship and technical expertise.

Responsibilities:

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on brakes, suspensions, air systems, lights, tires, and structural components
• Inspect trailers for DOT compliance
• Diagnose issues and complete repairs efficiently
• Complete maintenance documentation and follow safety procedures

Qualifications:

• Trailer mechanic or related mechanical experience
• Knowledge of trailer systems and DOT requirements
• Valid driver's license required; CDL a plus
• Ability to perform physical work and lift up to 75 lbs
• Ability to work in a shop environment and/or outdoor work environment
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail

Preferred:

• DOT inspection certification
• Welding experience
