Strong earning potential with ramp-in base pay and long-term company gross-profit sharing. Current top technicians are earning in the $130,000-$150,000 range. About the Opportunity AutoShop Recruiting is partnering with a high-performing independent repair shop in the Rochester, MI area that is looking to add a diagnostic-minded automotive technician to the team. This shop is not looking for a parts changer. The need is for someone who can consistently figure out what is wrong with the vehicle, communicate clearly with the team, and help the shop keep work moving correctly. What You'll Be Doing Diagnose drivability, electrical, mechanical, and vehicle-performance concerns. Use scan tools, testing processes, and sound judgment to identify root causes. Perform quality repairs across a wide range of vehicles. Collaborate with advisors, managers, and other technicians in a team-based workflow. Document findings clearly so the front counter can communicate recommendations. Contribute to a clean, professional, high-accountability shop environment. What We're Looking For Automotive technician, diagnostic technician, mechanic, A-level technician, or strong B-level technician experience. Ability to diagnose vehicles consistently, not just replace parts. Strong work ethic, ownership, and team-first mentality. Comfortable working in a structured independent shop with shared accountability. Valid driver's license. ASE certifications are a plus, but real diagnostic ability matters more than paper credentials.
