Duties Greet customers warmly, listen attentively to their vehicle concerns, and accurately document service requests. Prepare detailed repair estimates using automotive estimating software, ensuring transparency and clarity for customers. Communicate effectively with technicians regarding vehicle diagnostics, mechanical issues, and recommended repairs such as transmissions, brake repair, suspension, tire service, or diesel engine repair. Upsell additional services like oil changes, alignments, shocks & struts, air brake systems, or collision repairs to maximize customer satisfaction and shop profitability. Manage vehicle repair orders from start to finish, ensuring timely updates and clear communication with clients throughout the process. Handle cash transactions accurately and maintain detailed records of all service activities and client interactions. Assist in promoting dealership services by leveraging auto estimating skills and automotive repair knowledge to enhance customer trust and loyalty. Experience Proven experience as a Service Writer or in a similar auto service management role within a dealership or repair shop environment. Strong mechanic experience or familiarity with automotive diagnostics, collision repair, oil changes, wheel alignments, and suspension work. Knowledge of automotive systems including transmissions, air brakes, shocks & struts, and tire services. Excellent customer service skills paired with effective client communication abilities to explain technical issues clearly. Previous experience in auto body repair or collision repair enhances your ability to provide comprehensive solutions.
