Grays Garage Hot Rods is currently hiring a skilled technician to join our team at a high-end custom hot rod and classic car fabrication shop. We are a well-respected shop within the hot rod industry. Our builds have won many National awards, including Goodguys 2026 Hot Rod of the Year, Triple Crown of Rodding Top 30. Our builds have been on display at SEMA and have competed for America's Most Beautiful Roadster. We have also had builds featured in several magazines including; Hot Rod, Street Rodder, Wheel Hub, Modern Rodding, Rodding USA, Goodguys Gazzette, etc... The ideal candidate will be a team player with strong mechanical skills and a working knowledge of classic cars and trucks. Attention to detail is essential, along with the ability to work carefully and efficiently around high-end ($300,000+) show vehicles. Pride in craftsmanship and respect for the vehicles we work on are key. Typical duties include vehicle disassembly and assembly, brake work, wiring, fabricating brake lines, as well as engine and transmission installation. Experience with sheet metal fabrication is a strong plus, and the ability to MIG and/or TIG weld is highly desirable. We are looking for someone who is motivated to learn every day, takes pride in their work, and is willing to share their knowledge and skills with the rest of the team. Passion, reliability, and a strong work ethic are essential. For the right candidate, we are willing to provide training and help develop the skills needed to succeed in this environment. Pay will vary depending on the skills and experience you bring to the table. Qualifications Proven automotive repair experience with a strong background in automotive diagnostics and mechanical repairs. Knowledge of automotive electrical systems, and schematics. Hands-on experience working with classic or high-performance vehicles is preferred. Skilled in engine diagnosis, powertrain maintenance, welding, and general vehicle maintenance. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and automotive service equipment. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent problem-solving skills to tackle repairs efficiently. Ability to read technical manuals and schematics accurately for troubleshooting purposes. Customer service-oriented mindset with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
