Duties Greet customers warmly, listen attentively to their vehicle concerns, and accurately document their needs. Explain recommended repairs and maintenance using clear, professional communication. Prepare detailed estimates utilizing estimating software and automotive diagnostics tools. Upsell additional services such as oil changes, tire services, brake repairs, alignments, suspension work, and transmission repairs to enhance customer value. Coordinate with service technicians to prioritize repairs and ensure timely completion of work. Manage service writing tasks efficiently, including creating work orders and updating repair statuses. Handle cash transactions accurately and maintain detailed records of all customer interactions and sales. Utilize automotive repair knowledge—including diesel engine repair, collision repair, air brake systems, shocks & struts, and auto body repair—to better advise customers on their vehicle needs. Communicate effectively with clients about vehicle diagnostics results and repair options. Promote dealership services proactively to maximize customer satisfaction and retention. Skills Proven experience in dealership or automotive service environments with a strong understanding of auto service management. Mechanical experience combined with automotive diagnostics expertise for accurate assessment of vehicle issues. Proficiency with estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly. Knowledge of automotive repair procedures including oil changes, tire service, alignment, suspension work, brake repair, shocks & struts, diesel engine repair, and auto body repair. Ability to upsell services confidently while maintaining integrity and customer trust. Experience with service writing, estimating processes, and collision repair procedures is highly desirable. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for managing multiple tasks efficiently. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; ability to drive company vehicles as needed.
