Job Overview Suburban Hyundai is seeking a results-driven, customer-focused Automotive Service Advisor to join our high-volume service team. In this pivotal role, you will serve as the primary liaison between our service customers, certified Hyundai technicians, and parts specialists. You will own the customer journey from initial vehicle intake through active diagnostic updates to final delivery—ensuring clear communication, transparent recommendations, and top-tier client retention. Key Responsibilities Greet service clients warmly and conduct thorough initial vehicle walkarounds to capture detailed customer concerns and diagnostic needs. Generate clear, itemized repair and maintenance estimates utilizing dealership management systems (DMS) and service estimating software. Communicate transparently with clients regarding recommended service priorities, manufacturer warranty details, cost breakdowns, and completion timelines. Partner closely with shop foremen and technicians to track vehicle repair progress, resolve roadblocks, and ensure prompt delivery. Deliver continuous customer updates via phone, text, or email throughout the service visit to maintain high satisfaction and trust. Present factory-recommended maintenance and necessary repairs clearly without aggressive sales tactics, focusing on long-term vehicle health and safety. Explain completed repair orders in detail upon customer pickup, process payments accurately, and perform post-service follow-ups.
Qualifications & Requirements Experience:
1-3+ years of experience as an Automotive Service Advisor or Service Writer within a franchised dealership environment preferred.
Technical Knowledge:
Strong understanding of general automotive mechanical systems, routine maintenance schedules, and diagnostic workflows.
Software Skills:
Hands-on experience with dealership management systems (e.g., Reynolds & Reynolds, CDK, or Dealertrack) and electronic repair order software.
Communication:
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a proven track record of maintaining high Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) scores.
Credentials:
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Hyundai brand experience or ASE C1 (Automotive Service Consultant) certification is a strong plus.
Pay:
$55,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
