Overview Virgil's Auto Repair and Towing, Technician and Towing Operator. Duties Towing Light Duty Wrecker and Flatbed. Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive electrical systems, schematics, and advanced diagnostic tools to identify issues accurately. Conduct repairs on various mechanical systems including engines, transmissions, suspensions, brakes, shocks & struts, and powertrain components. Execute routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire services, wheel alignments, and vehicle inspections to uphold safety standards. Repair and replace automotive parts using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and specialized heavy equipment mechanics tools. Work with modern ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) technology to calibrate sensors and ensure proper functioning. Interpret technical manuals and schematics for precise repairs on GM vehicles and other makes. Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and ensuring vehicle safety and performance meet industry standards. Experience Proven experience working in the automotive repair industry with a strong background in dealership or independent shop settings. Hands-on experience with diesel engine repair, auto body repair, auto estimating, and heavy equipment mechanics is highly desirable. Familiarity with automotive electrical systems, powertrain repairs, wheel alignment procedures, and suspension system repairs. Knowledge of automotive diagnostics software and ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical systems efficiently. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical repair tools essential for comprehensive vehicle maintenance. Prior experience working with transmissions—manual or automatic—and performing brake repairs is required.
