What You'll Be Doing Perform on-site inspections, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs at customer locations Troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems on heavy-duty environmental equipment Collaborate with the Service Manager to prioritize and schedule field service calls Complete detailed service documentation including labor, parts usage, diagnostics, and repair summaries Maintain a remote parts inventory and ensure service vehicle readiness Build product knowledge across supported environmental equipment lines and stay current on product updates and service procedures Follow all company safety policies and maintain a safe working environment in the field and shop Support customers professionally and act as a strong ambassador for the MacQueen brand Assist in identifying potential business opportunities and customer equipment needs within the territory Travel overnight as needed, including occasional multi-day trips What Makes This Role Different You won't be stuck in the same shop every day—this role combines field independence with hands-on technical work You'll work on specialized equipment that directly supports sanitation, sewer, street maintenance, and environmental operations Every repair you complete helps municipalities and contractors keep essential services running You'll have the backing of a strong team while still having autonomy in the field What We're Looking For Minimum 3 years of experience in a full-time technician or mechanic role working on heavy-duty chassis or equipment Strong hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical troubleshooting experience Welding and cutting torch experience preferred Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills Comfortable using Microsoft Office and learning new technologies/software systems Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record Preferred Qualifications Direct refuse or environmental equipment industry experience Class B CDL Why MacQueen? Compensation & Benefits The expected hourly pay range for this position is $27.00-$47.00 per hour, depending on experience, certifications, technical skillset, and overall qualifications.
