About the Role Above and Below Contracting, LLC is a construction company in Arnold, MO looking for an experienced Fleet & Equipment Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet of construction vehicles and equipment. This role covers everything from trucks and dump trucks to hydrovacs, dozers, excavators, mini excavators, skid steers, and a variety of other construction equipment, so we're looking for someone with broad mechanical experience who can adapt to different repair jobs day to day. Responsibilities Diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of construction vehicles and equipment, including trucks, dump trucks, hydrovacs, dozers, excavators, mini excavators, skid steers, pumps, generators, and other construction equipment Perform routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, fluid checks, filter replacements, etc.) Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine issues Use Samsara telematics and maintenance systems to track equipment health, schedule maintenance, and log repairs Complete repairs both in the shop and in the field/on job sites as needed Keep accurate maintenance and repair records Order parts and manage inventory as needed Ensure all work complies with safety standards and regulations Respond to equipment breakdowns and emergency repairs, which may require flexible or on-call hours Requirements Proven experience as a mechanic working on construction vehicles and equipment (trucks, heavy equipment, hydrovacs, etc.) Experience with dozers, excavators, skid steers, or similar heavy equipment strongly preferred Familiarity with telematics/fleet maintenance software (Samsara experience a plus) Must supply own hand tools and toolbox Valid CDL required Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, or on-call as needed Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills Ability to lift heavy parts/equipment and work in outdoor/field conditions Team player with strong communication skills Preferred Qualifications Certification in diesel or heavy equipment mechanics Experience working in the construction industry Welding/fabrication skills a plusadvancing your professional growth in a vibrant industry.
Pay:
$25.00 - $45.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 50.0 per week
