ABOUT THE ROLE

The Work Truck Depot is looking for a Service Technician / Mechanic to keep our fleet running right. This is hands-on work on truck-mounted utility equipment — bucket trucks, digger derricks, boom and aerial cranes, dump, service, and forestry bodies, plus everything they're mounted on. You'll handle preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs across the chassis, diesel drivetrain, hydraulics, and electrical systems. We work on Terex, Versalift, Elliott, Freightliner, and Stellar equipment day in and day out. WHAT YOU'LL DO

Perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on truck-mounted utility equipment — boom, bucket, digger derrick, dump, service, forestry, and aerial cranes. Assess, diagnose, repair, and replace worn or damaged parts across a range of vocational and utility trucks from multiple manufacturers, ensuring our quality standards are met every time. Work across truck chassis, diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, drivetrain, and suspension. Provide maintenance and repair on medium- and heavy-duty trucks; hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting is a big part of the job. Keep accurate records of parts, labor, and services so vehicles repair history is maintained accurately. Submit work and repair orders to your supervisor for approval so budgets stay on track and repair costs are accurately reflected. Perform all work in line with best practices for a safe shop and yard environment and take part in our regular safety meetings. Handle other duties as needed — we all pitch in to keep the operation moving.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Experience:

3+ years working on utility truck equipment, diesel, medium- or heavy-duty trucks, or related equipment.

Technical skills:

Solid background in hydraulics, electrical, drivetrain, and suspension.

Documentation:

Comfortable using a computer to document repair activity and keep clean records.

Tools:

Must have your own mechanic's tools.

License:

Valid driver's license required; CDL required for this position.

Ongoing development:

Ongoing education and training is available and strongly encouraged — WTD invests in keeping our technicians sharp and growing their skills.

Education / training:

High school diploma or equivalent; vocational/technical school, military wheeled mechanic training, or related experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Physical effort to move objects, parts, and tools throughout the shift, with occasional lifting up to 100 lbs. Frequent stooping, bending, squatting, and kneeling. A high level of manual dexterity. Ability to work in all environment types — indoor shop, outdoor yard, and varying weather conditions. Comfortable operating machines to their maximum height capabilities, working at heights up to 160′.

PAY & BENEFITS
