Job Description

M&K Truck Centers is expanding, and we're looking for a Service Assistant to become a vital part of our growing team. This position supports the Service Department by assisting technicians, performing basic repairs and maintenance, helping maintain the facility, and ensuring vehicles and work areas are clean, organized, and operating efficiently. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, mechanically inclined, and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. Essential Functions Assist with service-related repairs and maintenance tasks. Perform basic truck repairs, preventative maintenance services, and DOT inspections with minimal supervision. Fuel vehicles with gasoline or diesel fuel to specified levels. Power wash, detail, and clean trucks and equipment. Provide utility assistance to the Service, Parts, Sales, and Facilities departments. Utilize hand and power tools, including screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, and other shop equipment. Use CDK, ASIST, and other PC software to support daily service operations and complete required documentation. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment. Complete additional duties and projects as assigned by the Service Manager or Service Advisor. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic repairs independently. Basic computer skills and proficiency using current PC software programs. Experience using dealership management systems such as CDK and OEM service systems such as ASIST is preferred. Ability to perform basic building and facility maintenance. Valid driver's license required. Class A or Class B CDL is helpful but not required. Preferred Experience Previous experience in a truck dealership, fleet maintenance, automotive, diesel, or heavy equipment environment. Familiarity with DOT inspections, routine maintenance services, and vehicle detailing. Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and willingness to support multiple departments as needed.
