Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics on various vehicle systems using automotive diagnostic tools and schematics to identify issues accurately. Repair and maintain powertrain components, including engines, transmissions, and drivetrain systems, ensuring optimal vehicle performance. Conduct vehicle suspension system repairs, wheel alignments, and steering system diagnostics to enhance safety and handling. Interpret automotive wiring diagrams to troubleshoot electrical systems such as automotive electrical systems, ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), and other vehicle electronics. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and specialized automotive repair tools to complete repairs efficiently and safely. Diagnose and repair diesel engines and GM vehicles with a focus on quality workmanship and adherence to manufacturer standards. Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly, estimating costs accurately, and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the service process. Requirements Proven dealership or service technician experience with a strong background in automotive diagnostics and repair. Solid mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems including powertrain, transmission, suspension, electrical systems, and vehicle maintenance. Familiarity with automotive wiring diagram interpretation, schematics, and the use of automotive diagnostic tools. Hands-on experience with vehicle transmission system repair, vehicle alignment procedures, and diesel engine repair is highly desirable. Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and automotive wiring diagrams accurately. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other automotive maintenance tools. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients. Service technician experience in a dealership or similar environment is preferred; auto estimating skills are a plus.
