Responsibilities Diagnose transmission issues using automotive diagnostics tools and schematics to identify mechanical or electrical faults. Repair or replace transmissions, including manual and automatic types, ensuring proper alignment and functionality. Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, fluid checks, and inspections of powertrain components related to transmissions. Conduct comprehensive testing of repaired systems to verify performance and safety standards are met. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and mechanical knowledge to execute repairs efficiently. Collaborate with team members on complex repairs involving automotive suspension systems, axles, and drivetrain components. Maintain detailed service records, complete auto estimating procedures, and communicate effectively with customers about repair needs. Requirements Proven experience working in the automotive repair industry with a focus on transmissions or powertrain systems. Dealership experience is highly preferred for familiarity with manufacturer-specific procedures. Strong knowledge of automotive electrical systems, schematics, and diagnostics tools such as ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems). Proficiency in mechanical repair techniques including suspension system repair, brake repair, shocks & struts replacement, and tire service. Ability to work with heavy equipment mechanics tools and perform welding or other mechanical systems repairs as needed. Valid certification or experience in diesel engine repair, automotive electrical systems, or auto body repair is a plus. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to clients. Mechanical aptitude combined with hands-on experience using power tools and maintenance equipment.
