Local CDL Driver/Part-Time Shop Mechanic Tank Driver Essential Functions:

• Fully understand how to operate and safely drive your assigned CMV.

Ensure contents are properly secured inside of truck to prevent leakage. Map delivery routes to ensure timely deliveries. Communicate traffic reports, delays, etc. to dispatch as needed. Confirm contents of each shipment load matches the POD. Perform inspections of your vehicle prior to and following each trip (Also confirm proper 5th wheel connection with proper flashlight). Always ensure your vehicle is kept clean. No pets on the tank fleet. Notify managers of any minor or major maintenance or delivery issues encountered. Maintain detailed driving and delivery logs. Adhere to company rules and regulations. Obey all applicable traffic laws and drive in accordance with the weather/road conditions. Comply with DOT regulations. Always be a good ambassador for CEI. Always make safety a priority. Transport liquid and pneumatic trailers. Ensure all Pneumatic trailers have trailer axle weight between 33-34,000 lbs., unload product if needed to customers specification. Ensure all seals match the BOL or Seal log sheet. Ensure trailer numbers are correct on BOL's and paperwork. Make sure trailer is mechanically ready for delivery for the delivery driver, report all issues to manager/ dispatcher and shop. Ensure you are hooked to the proper unloading port at Customer. Reseal all empty tankers after unloading. Wear all proper safety equipment, footwear, gloves, etc. Always use 3-point contact with grab handles or ladders when ascending and descending from truck and trailer. Must be able to drive in all-weather conditions. Must be able to drive day & night. Overnight stays may be required. All other duties as assigned.

Tank Truck Driver Requirements and Qualifications:

Commercial driver's license (CDL) preferred - Class A and Tanker Endorsement Preferred. At least two years verifiable experience required. Tanker experience preferred. Clean driving record with no moving violations. Must pass background check and drug test. Skilled and confident driver. Comfortable maneuvering and parking a large vehicle. Alert, focused, and detail oriented. Physically and mentally fit. Ability to lift, up to 50 lbs. at a time, including tank hoses. Proficient in using GPS and other routing systems. Disciplined, dependable, and resourceful. Excellent customer service skills Strong verbal communicator

Shop Essential Functions:

• Diagnoses and repairs vehicles and equipment.
• Performs inspections and preventive maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
• Prepares and maintains records and reports.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies, and the public.
• Maintains trucks, tanker & reefer trailer units.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Assist in keeping the service department safe, clean, and organized.
• All other tasks as assigned.

Shop Job Requirements:

• Valid class A CDL preferred.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems.
• Truck and Trailer experience.
• Will be needed to assist with deliveries as Director of Tanker Operations sees the need. This may be a short notice request when needed.
• Overall knowledge of diagnosing mechanical problems and performing repairs.
• Must provide a basic set of tools.
• Overall knowledge of shop maintenance.
• Must have strong customer service skills.
• Must be thorough and have great organization.
• Must be thorough and have great organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure. Negative discussions with customers, vendors & other CEI employees will not be tolerated.
• Must have strong computer skills (Repair Order entry & processing, Inventory management, Parts experience).
• Ability to handle multiple functions at the same time.
• Ability to work proficiently and efficiently in a timely manner.
• Highly detail oriented.

Shop Work Environment:

Mechanic duties operate in an outside shop setting. This role routinely uses standard mechanic shop equipment.

Shop Physical Demands:

Mechanic duties require the ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time. It may also require walking primarily on a level surface or climbing, as well as reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lift, up to 50 lbs. at least once a day.

Shop/ Driver Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Days and typical hours of work are Monday through Friday, 06:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Extra hours and weekends may be necessary. On call as needed. Leaving early will need preapproval or authorization by Director of Tanker of Operations.

Required Education:

High school diploma or GED diploma, at least five years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
