Job Description

Position Summary The Trailer Repair Mechanic / Lot Porter is a dual-function role responsible for maintaining the mechanical safety and road-worthiness of trailers, while also ensuring the dealership or service yard operates smoothly. You will split your time between hands-on mechanical diagnostics, repairs, and lot management.
Diagnostics & Repair:
Troubleshoot and fix mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. Repair or replace malfunctioning brake systems, wheel ends, axles, and suspensions.
Welding & Fabrication:
Perform structural metal repairs, welding, and body panel replacement on dry vans and flatbed trailers.
Yard Organization:
Maintain an organized, clean, and orderly service yard or sales lot. Stage and park trailers safely in designated areas.
Trailer Prep & Staging:
Prepare trailers for customer pickup or sale by checking wheel lugs, tires, couplings, and lights.
Lot Maintenance:
Keep the grounds clear of debris and ensure work areas, service bays, and wash racks remain tidy.
Inventory Assistance:
Assist in loading/unloading trailers and help locate, organize, and deliver parts to the mechanics on duty. [1, 2, 3, 4]
Required Qualifications Education:
High school diploma
Licensing:
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Physical Stamina:
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, lift up to 50 lbs, and handle the physical demands of kneeling, climbing, and pulling.
Pay:
$13.00 - $16.00 per hour
