Automotive Diagnostic Technician Fountain Services is currently seeking motivated Automotive Diagnostic Technician to join our team to repair and maintain our fleet of over 100 vehicles and numerous pieces of construction equipment. We operate a fully equipped on-site garage facility on our Spindale, NC headquarters campus and employ a staff of full-time mechanics. Position Overview As an Automotive Diagnostic Technician, you will specialize in inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing a wide variety of vehicles and construction equipment. Using state-of-the-art diagnostic tools and equipment, you will accurately identify mechanical, electrical, and electronic system issues and perform corrective repairs in accordance with safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and electronic systems on fleet vehicles and construction equipment. Perform preventative maintenance and repairs to minimize downtime and extend equipment life. Utilize diagnostic tools such as scan tools, multimeters, and software-based platforms to identify faults and system errors. Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and manufacturer service bulletins. Document all inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance activities accurately. Collaborate with other mechanics and supervisors to prioritize and schedule repair work. Conduct road tests and system checks to verify quality of repairs. Ensure adherence to all company safety policies and industry regulations. Skills and Qualifications 5 years of experience in automotive or heavy equipment repair and diagnostics. High school diploma or GED Must pass a mandatory drug screening Proficiency with diagnostic equipment and tools. Knowledge of gas and diesel engine systems, electrical systems, and hydraulic components. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. ASE Certification or equivalent (preferred but not required) Physical Requirements Lift 50+ pounds Work from ladders or scaffolds, and in overhead positions Perform tasks requiring repetitive reaching, squatting, kneeling, crouching, and bending Work in all climate conditions, including heat and cold Maintain good balance, coordination, and stamina to perform physically demanding labor Portfolio We deliver some of the highest-value and most complex electrical projects in the region.Examples of our work include:
