Job Description
Overview The Trailer Mechanic II performs skilled maintenance and repair on all areas of refrigerated and dry trailers. Schedule Friday, Saturday, Sunday 7pm - 7am Responsibilities Proficient in Air Brake and Suspension. Proficient in maintenance on all refrigeration units. Preventative maintenance training. Acceptable welding training or experience with major and minor trailer structure repair. Replacing flooring, roof and side panels of trailers. Changing cables, drums and operators of roll-up doors. Trouble shooting and repairing of electrical wiring on trailer lights. Attend and successfully complete any training as assigned by management. Utilize company work order system for assignments and track time. Helps other trailer mechanics in other technical areas as needed. May be required to perform other tasks as assigned by Manager. Working knowledge of job site safety as well as ability to complete a company specific safety orientation Qualifications High School diploma or general education degree (GED); 5-10 years of hands-on diagnosis and repair of all areas of a trailer. Must be ASE certified in Air Brakes, Suspension Refrigeration Carrier-Thermo King training Electircal repair and diagnosis Ability to manage multiple priorities. Carrier and Thermo-King certified. Preventive maintenance training Proficient at Welding either stick or MIG either steel and aluminum. CDL is preferred. Must be able bend, twist, and lift upto-100+ lbs. and pass lifting test. Work under the general direction of the Fleet Maintenance Manager.
