In this role, you will be responsible for customizing and outfitting emergency vehicles with specialized equipment, ensuring they meet safety standards and operational requirements. Your expertise will help transform standard vehicles into fully functional emergency response units, supporting first responders and public safety agencies. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge vehicle modifications in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment. Responsibilities Install, modify, and upgrade emergency vehicle equipment such as lighting, sirens, communication systems, and storage solutions using hand tools and power tools Interpret schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams to accurately execute vehicle modifications Conduct mechanical repairs and system troubleshooting on various vehicle components including electrical systems, hydraulic systems, and mechanical assemblies Perform manual handling of heavy equipment and vehicle parts safely following established safety regulations and procedures Utilize welding equipment and techniques to fabricate custom brackets or mounts as needed for specialized equipment installation Conduct vehicle maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance during the upfit process and final inspection before deployment Maintain detailed records of work performed, including parts used, procedures followed, and compliance with safety standards Requirements Proven mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive service or diesel mechanics Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and automotive electrical systems such as using an ohmmeter for circuit testing Strong understanding of mechanical systems repair, schematics interpretation, and vehicle maintenance practices Ability to handle manual tasks involving lifting, bending, and maneuvering heavy or bulky items safely Experience working with maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) processes in a fast-paced environment Knowledge of safety regulations relevant to vehicle modification work to ensure a safe working environment at all times Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with team members and clients regarding project status or technical issues Join us if you're passionate about making a difference through innovative vehicle modifications!
