Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Emergency Vehicle Upfit Technician (EVT- UPFITTER) to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for upfitting emergency vehicles to ensure they meet the highest standards of safety, functionality, and reliability. Your expertise will help equip first responders with the specialized vehicles they need to serve our communities effectively. This position offers an exciting opportunity for technicians passionate about automotive repair and vehicle upfitting, with a focus on emergency response vehicles. Responsibilities Install, modify, and upgrade emergency vehicle equipment including/but not limited to lighting, sirens, mobile data & communication systems, 12 volt components and aftermarket equipment/parts in all types of emergency vehicles. Diagnose and troubleshoot complex automotive electrical systems. Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to accurately perform repairs and modifications ensuring all installations meet industry standards and regulations. Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and customer specifications for the emergency vehicle upfit are complete. Maintain accurate records of work performed Qualifications Proficiency in reading schematics and understanding complex wiring diagrams for electrical troubleshooting. Experience installing low voltage and aftermarket equipment in emergency vehicles. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and other maintenance tools required for vehicle modifications. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail on every project.
