Job Description
Build something that lasts—rail vehicles for the next century At Siemens Mobility in Lexington, NC, our Rolling Stock Division—North America's market leader in passenger coaches, locomotives, and light rail—combines manufacturing excellence with digital innovation to transform rail transportation. Your mission As a Production Welder I, you'll join, align, and assemble carbon steel and stainless-steel carbody structures in a high-energy production environment, helping deliver safer, more reliable trains. Impact, day one Translate blueprints, parts lists, sketches, and verbal direction into precise manual/mechanized welds and repeatable assembly work.
Fabricate routine welded pieces—subassemblies and mounted components—with accuracy.
Execute visual inspections and follow documented quality checkpoints to uphold standards. Shift Monday-Thursday, 4:00 p.m. - 2:30 a.m. What it takes High school diploma or state-recognized GED (or equivalent education/experience). Practical welding test required for all applicants. Preferred experience using torch and plasma tools. General mechanical aptitude. Ability to read manufacturing drawings and confirm dimensions. Basic English communication (written and verbal). Physical essentials Frequent walking; reaching; stooping; kneeling; crouching; or crawling. Frequent climbing of stairs, steps, and ladders. Frequent work on elevated platforms. Occasional lifting/moving up to 40 lbs.
