Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Heavy Equipment Truck Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on heavy trucks, including tractor-trailers, and various industrial and construction equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery. Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, suspension work, and hydraulic system servicing to maximize equipment uptime. Utilize schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues with precision. Repair and replace transmissions, shocks & struts, air brakes, steering components, and other mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance. Carry out welding, fabrication, and assembly work as needed for equipment repair or customization projects. Perform vehicle alignment checks and repairs to maintain safety standards and operational efficiency. Maintain detailed service records, inspection reports, and maintenance logs for all equipment serviced or repaired. Requirements Proven experience working as a heavy equipment mechanic or in a dealership setting with a focus on truck repair. Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspensions, HVAC systems, and electrical systems in heavy trucks and industrial machinery. Proficiency with automotive diagnostics tools and ability to interpret schematics accurately. Hands-on experience with heavy equipment operation including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery is highly desirable. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance tools required for complex repairs. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during repairs or inspections. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members. Valid certifications related to diesel mechanics or heavy truck repair are preferred; dealership experience is a plus.
