Overview Join our dynamic automotive team as an Automotive Paint Prep Technician and play a vital role in preparing vehicles for flawless paint application! As a Paint Prep Technician, you'll be the first step in creating stunning vehicle finishes that leave customers thrilled. Your attention to detail and mechanical aptitude will ensure every vehicle is prepped to perfection, setting the stage for high-quality auto painting and restoration. Duties Prepare vehicles for painting by sanding, masking, and cleaning surfaces to ensure optimal paint adhesion. Use hand tools, power tools, and airless paint spraying equipment to remove old paint, rust, or imperfections. Perform minor auto body repairs such as dent removal and surface refinishing to achieve a smooth base. Assist in facilitating proper painting procedures. Conduct buffing and detailing to enhance the vehicle's appearance before and after painting. Support auto painting projects by handling heavy lifting tasks and ensuring all prep work meets quality standards. Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times. Requirements Previous dealership experience or hands-on auto body repair background is highly preferred. Proficiency with auto painting techniques and prep work Mechanical knowledge combined with experience using hand tools, power tools, and buffing equipment. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently throughout the workday. Strong customer service skills with a focus on quality workmanship.
