Job Description
Lead a Shop. Build a Team. Keep Our Fleet Moving. Transystems is looking for an experienced Lead Technician who takes pride in building a strong maintenance team, solving problems, and keeping equipment operating safely and efficiently. This is more than turning wrenches. You'll lead day-to-day shop operations, mentor technicians, and play a key role in keeping our fleet running at the highest standard.

Responsibilities include: Lead, mentor, and support shop technicians Assign and prioritize daily repair and preventative maintenance work Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and after-treatment system issues Ensure all repairs meet OEM, DOT, and company standards Coordinate repair schedules with Operations to minimize equipment downtime Review repair orders, technician timecards, inspections, and maintenance records for accuracy Manage parts ordering, inventory, and vendor relationships Conduct preventative maintenance audits and quality checks Lead weekly toolbox safety meetings and promote a strong safety culture Communicate daily with management regarding shop priorities, equipment status, and operational needs Help identify training opportunities and develop technician skill sets Maintain an organized, clean, and efficient shop environment

What We're Looking For:
We're looking for someone who leads by example and enjoys helping others succeed.Preferred qualifications include:
Minimum 2 years of heavy-duty truck, trailer, or equipment repair experience, or equivalent technical education Previous leadership, foreman, or lead technician experience is preferred Strong diagnostic skills on diesel trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment Experience with preventative maintenance programs Ability to troubleshoot electrical and after-treatment systems Welding experience is a plus Experience using diagnostic software and electronic maintenance records Strong organization, communication, and problem-solving skills Valid driver's license Physical Requirements & Work Environment Approximately 90% shop work and 10% office work Ability to safely work around heavy equipment and commercial vehicles Ability to enter and work around tractors, trailers, engine compartments, and under equipment Regular exposure to shop environments including noise, dust, fumes, heat, cold, uneven terrain, and outdoor weather conditions Why Transystems?
