Mechanic/CDL-A Yard Driver Legend Equipment Rental Job Summary As a Mechanic/CDL-A Yard Driver you be splitting time between shop mechanic work and delivery driving. As a Mechanic you will be responsible for performing full maintenance, diagnosis, and service repair for any and all equipment in the shop or in the field at a job site. As a CLD-A Yard Driver you will be responsible for maintaining a CDL-A license and all requirements associated, and will be loading, delivering, unloading and quick troubleshooting equipment in the yard or at the delivery location. Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Inspect vehicles and equipment for needed repairs; perform repairs as required
• Lubricate automotive and power-driven equipment with the use of air pressure and lubrication tools
• Drain and refill crankcases; inspect and fill gearboxes with lubricants; replace lubricant fittings; maintain lubrication records; maintain lubrication stock and replace as necessary
• Inspect, charge, and replace batteries
• Change and repair tires on light and heavy equipment
• Clean and wash motorized equipment
• Wash and otherwise keep shop and equipment in clean and orderly condition
• Maintain necessary records of time, materials, and parts used
• Pack and replace wheel bearings
• Replace shock absorbers, fan belts, radiator hoses and u joints
• Perform general overhaul, tune up and repair work on automobiles and related power-driven equipment
• Inspect, adjust and replace necessary units and parts including cooling, fuel and exhaust components
• May fabricate and modify parts and equipment
• Repair and overhaul brakes, ignition systems, electrical systems, transmission, differentials, and hydraulic systems; inspect, repair, overhaul and assemble automotive electrical equipment such as generators, distributors, magnetos and starters
• Drop off and pick up equipment for customers
• Operate construction equipment, such as semi-trucks and trailers ("low boys") consistent with DOT classification CDL-A
• Adhere to all safety requirements particular to equipment including Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
• Maintain driver's logs and complete pre-trip inspections
• Suggest additional equipment and supplies customers may need
• Perform related duties as assigned Education, Experience & Skills
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Valid Class A Commercial driver's license with acceptable driving record
• 3-5 years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools, 2-3 years of experience under DOT Regulated conditions.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools
• Strong mechanical background knowledge of various engines
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills
