Overview We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Auto Paint Technician to join our automotive repair team. In this role, you will be responsible for restoring vehicles to their optimal appearance through expert surface preparation, painting, and finishing techniques. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in automotive body refinishing, auto restoration, and the use of various spray guns and power tools. Responsibilities Prepare vehicle surfaces meticulously through sanding, masking, and surface cleaning to ensure optimal paint adhesion. Apply primers, paints, and coatings using conventional spray guns or airless paint spraying equipment with precision. Perform surface repairs including dent removal, welding, and auto body refinishing to restore vehicle integrity. Utilize buffing machines and automotive buffing techniques to achieve a high-quality finish. Operate grinders, sanders, and other power tools safely while maintaining proper respiratory protection protocols. Conduct auto glass replacements and repairs as needed during the refinishing process. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all tools such as hand tools and spray equipment are properly stored and maintained. Collaborate with team members on vehicle assessments, estimating repair needs, and customer service interactions. Assist with auto maintenance tasks when necessary, including minor mechanical repairs or adjustments. Follow safety guidelines diligently to ensure a safe working environment for all staff. Qualifications Proven experience in auto body repair, auto painting, or automotive refinishing; dealership experience is preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge coupled with hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools. Familiarity with surface preparation techniques including sanding, masking, and automotive surface preparation. Proficiency in applying paints using conventional spraying methods or airless paint spraying systems. Knowledge of automotive buffing, detailing, and auto restoration processes. Ability to operate grinders, sanders, buffers, and other relevant equipment safely. Experience with auto glass installation or repair is advantageous. Excellent customer service skills along with the ability to work effectively within a team. Physical ability for heavy lifting and sustained manual work during vehicle refinishing projects. Mechanic experience or familiarity with vehicle maintenance is considered a plus.
