US Foods is seeking a Senior Fleet Mechanic to keep our distribution fleet safe, reliable, and ready to serve foodservice customers nationwide. In this role, you will diagnose and repair diesel trucks, trailers, and refrigeration units, perform preventative maintenance, and respond to breakdowns to minimize downtime. You'll use advanced diagnostic tools, maintain accurate repair records, and uphold DOT and safety standards. Collaborate with drivers and operations teams, mentor junior technicians, and support a performance-driven, fast-paced, and safety-focused environment. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair diesel trucks, trailers, and refrigeration units Perform scheduled preventative maintenance to minimize breakdowns Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair hydraulic, air brake, and electrical systems Respond to road calls and emergency breakdowns as needed Maintain accurate service records in fleet maintenance systems Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, and company safety policies Communicate repair status and priorities with drivers and operations Support parts ordering, inventory, and shop organization Mentor and assist junior mechanics and technicians Identify opportunities to improve fleet reliability and reduce downtime Required Skills Diesel engine diagnostics and repair Trailer and liftgate maintenance Transport refrigeration (reefer) systems Hydraulic and air brake systems Preventative maintenance programs DOT and OSHA compliance Electrical and electronic troubleshooting Fleet maintenance software and recordkeeping Welding and fabrication basics Use of diagnostic tools and equipment
