•7 pm We are seeking an experienced and dependable Fleet Mechanic / Diagnostic Technician to join our transportation company in Clifton, New Jersey. Must have 5 Years + Experience and tools . Should be highly detail oriented and have good knowledge of Brakes, Tires, Alignment Exhaust Repair Basic Welding Stereo Audio installation Electrical diagnostic , wiring repair. Our fleet consists of commercial and specialty vehicles, including Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vans, Ford vehicles, Chevrolet/GMC SUVs, limousines, and party buses . We are looking for a skilled technician who can take ownership of the day-to-day maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of our fleet while keeping our vehicles safe, reliable, and on the road. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled services on Gas and Diesel vehicles and state inspection. Diagnose check-engine lights, drivability problems, and electrical faults Service brakes, suspension, steering, cooling, and charging systems Diagnose and repair heating and air-conditioning systems Troubleshoot factory and aftermarket vehicle electrical systems Identify developing mechanical issues before they result in vehicle downtime Perform vehicle and safety inspections Maintain accurate service and repair records Coordinate outside repairs or specialty work when necessary Maintain an organized shop and assist with parts and maintenance tracking Respond to occasional urgent or emergency fleet-related mechanical issues when needed Requirements Strong automotive or fleet repair experience Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting ability Must have your own professional mechanic tools Must have your own automotive diagnostic scanner Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record. Must be available to work Tuesday through Saturday Must live within a reasonable commuting distance of Clifton, NJ Must be dependable, punctual, and comfortable working independently Must be reasonably available to assist with occasional emergency vehicle situations outside normal working hours Experience with commercial vehicles, Sprinter vans, buses, limousines, or fleet vehicles is highly desirable Mercedes-Benz Sprinter experience is a major plus Strong electrical and HVAC diagnostic skills preferred ASE certifications are preferred but not required for a highly experienced technician Who We're Looking For We're looking for more than someone who simply replaces parts. The ideal candidate is a strong diagnostic technician who can identify the root cause of a problem and make the correct repair. Our transportation fleet operates seven days a week. Vehicle uptime, preventative maintenance, safety, and reliability are critical to our operation. Because transportation is a time-sensitive business, unexpected mechanical issues can occasionally occur outside normal shop hours. The right candidate understands the importance of emergency responsiveness and is willing to assist when a critical fleet situation arises. Experience working for a dealership, commercial fleet, transportation company, delivery fleet, municipal fleet, bus company, ambulance fleet, or independent repair facility can all be relevant. Schedule Tuesday-Saturday — Full-Time This is an on-site position in Clifton, New Jersey. Sunday and Monday are the regularly scheduled days off. Occasional emergency responsiveness outside the normal schedule may be required when an urgent fleet mechanical issue occurs. Compensation $30
